Cost and payment for your tubal reversal

Financial Matters

Dr Robert Woolcott and his team are committed to providing tubal reversal at reasonable cost

We are able to keep costs at a reasonable amount as a result of an agreement between Dr Woolcott, his anaesthetist and assistant surgeon which allows for control of surgical costs and limits the expense of the procedure.

The out of pocket expense for those with health insurance will vary greatly dependent on your health fund, the nature of your insurance and whether or not you have chosen to have pay gap or policy excess.

Because of the wide range of health funds and the multitude of differing products that health insurance companies offer, it is not possible to be precise about the exact cost for hospital accommodation and operating theatre fees. For those with top level health insurance it is likely that there will be no out of pocket expense for hospital fees. For those with an 'excess' on their health insurance the out of pocket expense for hospital fees is likely to be equal to the excess. For those without health insurance hospital fees are will be approximately those stated.

Fees and payment

Out of pocket expense

Health Insurance
$200 to $2,800 (Depending on your level of health insurance)

No Health Insurance

$6,900

Non Australian citizen $7,800

An initial payment of $4,900 is due at the time of confirming your surgery booking. This includes fees charged by the anaesthetist and assistant surgeon. Hospital fees (accommodation and operating theatre) are approximately $3,900 and are payable on admission (if you do not have health insurance).

Your final out of pocket expense is that charged by Dr Woolcott, his anaesthetist, the assistant surgeon and the hospital less Medicare and Health Insurance Rebates.

For further information on hospital fees please do not hesitate to contact Strathfield Private Hospital by telephone on 02 9745 7444 or Lingard Private Hospital on 02 49696799 and ask for the admissions office. Once you have provided details to the hospital about whether you have health insurance or not and if so, which fund and table, they will be able to provide an accurate estimate of hospital fees.

Please note that hospital fees are subject to change without notice at the discretion of the hospital administration.
